Schedule a design consultation with
Dwayne. He will visit you at your home to talk with you about
your future pool and take a look at your backyard so he can help you visualize
your dream. |
Dwayne will then meet with you to
present you with a design presentation and estimate. It will
show (in scale) the pool design in relation to your backyard and home. |
 |
Once the design has been agreed upon,
Dwayne will present you with a construction drawing which will show
the pool and deck specifics in relation to your home and backyard (in
scale). |
 |
Construction of your backyard paradise
does not begin until the official design is approved by you (the
homeowner) . |
Most cities and homeowner's associations
have various permits that are
required for construction of a pool. Dwayne will take care of
all these for you. |
The first step of the construction
process is the staking out of your yard. Using the construction
drawing, a spray paint outline will define the water line of your
pool, then wood stakes around the pool will define the 12 inch coping
edge. |
 |
Next a crew comes into your backyard
with equipment to dig your pool and haul away the dirt. This is
an amazing part to watch. You will quickly see your pool taking shape
three dimensionally. |
 |
After the pool has been dug, they then
form the pool, finishing up the digging, cutting out dirt for the
returns, and shaping the edges of the pool with wood edging. |
 |
The next step is to lay the steel
foundation (re-bar) for the pool and to pre-plumb the drains, returns,
and lay the spa jet plumbing. |
 |
Your pool is now ready for the gunite.
This looks sort of like concrete, but is amazing in how it stays
vertically on the walls of your pool without any sliding down.
It is blown into the pool and the workers carefully smooth and shape
the gunite to define the walls, steps, and ledges of your pool. Now
you can really see your pool taking shape. |
 |
Now the final plumbing and electrical
begins. Workers come in and finish the plumbing and set up your
water filtration, heater systems. The electrical workers make sure the
pool is grounded well, finish the wiring, and hook it all up to a
breaker box. |
The flagstone coping edge around the
pool will look great. The workers hand cut each piece of
flagstone to make sure it follows the lines of your pool. |
 |
You have picked the tile for your pool,
now comes the day they install it. A 6 inch row of tiles goes around
the edge of the pool and if you have a spa (raised 12 inches) you will
then have 3 rows of tile around the spa portion of the pool. |
 |
Building your water feature is next.
Large rocks are brought in and your water fall / water wall will
slowly take shape. Each rock is hand laid and concreted in along with
the flexible plumbing lines. The natural variation in rocks will make
your water feature truly beautiful. |
 |
Using re-bar and wood edging, your deck
is formed. This will lay the groundwork for whatever surface you
choose to have poured for your deck. |
 |
Your pool is really taking shape. Next
the workers install the plaster. This is the final surface of
the pool. Once the plaster is finished, you will begin filling
your pool with water that day. |
 |
Your pool is now ready for it's official
"Start Up". Your pumps and cleaner system will be turned on and
within a couple of days you will be swimming. |
